Christmas 2011 Part 1

Merry Christmas family and friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.  Our Christmas was fabulous.  It really was stress-free and really gave us the opportunity to remember why we celebrate Christmas.
Here is our family Christmas tree.

This was Cailyn’s first Christmas.  She really did enjoy all the lights, paper, cardboard boxes and ribbon!!
Cailyn's First Christmas 1
First let’s start with Christmas Eve.  We went to the 7PM service as church.  It was wonderful and the kids were EXCELLENT!!Christmas miracle.  As soon as we got home we set out our treats for Santa.

Christmas Tree Picking 2011

EDIT: I had 2010…forgive me I am still in shock next year is 2012…

The annual picking of the Christmas Tree is a slightly stressful event but none-the-less fun.  Why you ask…

1 little man who insisted on sticking his foot with crocs and a sock in the mucky tree stand water…

1 little girl who was grabbing for everything…DSC_3208

And one Miss know it all.

DSC_3209

I am not saying who did what I am just saying…

It was fun, and we did pick out a pretty Christmas tree although the really pretty ones were $80 and higher and that is simply ridiculous for something that is going to die in a couple of weeks…

None-the-less, we came we saw, and had we known they were giving out hayrides this year we would of done that too. Next year (unless we get a fake tree).

But, it was time to get home because there was a sweet little girl who needed to go down for a nap!!

I don’t even have a picture of the tree but I will soon!!

Gingerbread House 2009

This weekend we decided to do a Gingerbread House for our weekend project. Let me tell you...contructing a Gingerbread house is harder then it looks!!

I am working really hard to make sure this thing doesn't fall apart underneath me! I'm the mom...I gotta look like I know what I am doing!

All Wesley cares about is the CANDY!! Lawson just wanted to help...until she got sick and fell asleep on the couch and woke up with a 102 fever. She is fine now, less then 12hrs sickness.

The Finished Fitts Gingerbread House.
Lawson's Side...She settled with simplity...This where Santa's sleigh landed and you can see his trail in the snow.

This is Wesley's side. He was 1-1-2 for candy...
1 On the floor
1 On the roof
2 In his mouth!!!

Oh so sweet!!

Mommy the Unsung Hero!

Okay, so maybe Denny needs some landing instructions "DO NOT PARK YOURSELF ON A LIGHT BULB!!" Or you will burn your leg off!

I thought about it and my fellow readers (all 3 of them) are right. I need to fix Denny's leg or there is a REALLY good chance I will get one of these looks from a little girl named Lawson.
Or scar my children forever!
Mommy to the rescue! Denny is as good as new!
Kind of, so we will never forget his battle wound (mommy's stupidity) I left a small reminder.
Oh the things I do for these kids!! They have no idea!!

What is that smell?

Oops!!! We had a small accident and Denny has lost a leg!!
Have no fear the kids do not know, and if they do find out we will say he got burned coming down the fireplace (good idea Lauren!)
It is tough being an Elf on the Shelf!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

You better have a nice aroma!! Per the request of Lawson.

Sunday we went out to get the family Christmas tree and on the way there Lawson says "We are going to get a Christmas Tree with a wonderful aroma." Nice words Lawson!!

At the Tree Farm

Mommy and her baby, I mean big boy!!

Picture complements of Lawson. Just noticed there is a Port-a-potty in the background!! Nothing says Christmas like a Port-a-potty!!

We found the perfect tree daddy!!

Time to string up these silly lights. This is hard work!!
Lawson got the honor of putting on the Christmas Angel. When I was a kid we would all fight to put on the tree topper! It didn't matter how tall we were we still wanted to get on our dad's shoulders to do the honor!
Daddy's Helper...he is with him every step of the way!

Wesley had the honor of putting on the first ornament. Which he took on and off 20 times!!

Wesley saying "Ho-ho-ho"

Ta-da! The Lights and the Pearls are on!! Time to decorate!!

Decorating the tree was a success. Only one broken ornament...so far!
And Yes, our tree has a wonderful aroma!!
