A Special Day Visit from Family

Last Friday, my grandmother, Mama II, and my Aunt Aprille, some call her “Aunt Perfect,” came to my house for a 4 hour visit.  I was beyond thrilled to see my family especially when you know how much effort went into them getting here.  Aprille lives in GA and Mama II lives in SC.  Aprille traveled to SC Thursday evening.  Then they left the house at 6AM on Friday to get to our home by 10AM.  Then they left our house around 2PM for another 4 hours drive. Aprille then returned to GA Sunday. What a whirlwind of a trip but from our end it was AWESOME.

Aprille had only met Lawson when she was 18 months old. So many years have past and our family has grown by 2 since then!!  It was wonderful for part of my extended family to finally meet my family!

It was a special treat for us because Mama II got to see Lawson perform in the 1st grads presentation of the Wax Museum, Lawson was Juliette Gordon Low (Girl Scouts Founder).

**I want you to know I did not doctor this picture AT ALL!! Doesn’t my grandma look AWESOME???

While we went up to the school, I left Wesley and Cailyn (sleeping) with Aprille.  Wesley was at first very shy with Aprille but that wore off quickly.  When Aprille left for home Wesley said “why does she have to go?  I want her to stay and play!!” Yep, Aunt Aprille is still as fun as I remember!!DSC_4459

Aprille was so overjoyed to see the kiddos she played with all 3 outside and Mama II and I were able to have a nice quiet lunch together.  We enjoyed ham, potato salad, and macaroni and cheese (Mama II brought the meal too)  Geez, do I sound worthless or what?  She drives all this way and brings food!! Here is one more picture of the kiddos with their Great Aunt Aprille!  I would have to agree she is great!!DSC_4469

Thank you Aprille and Mama II for coming up all this way to see me and the kids.  It meant the world to me!!  We love you !

Grandmas and Great-Grandmas

This week I had the rare opportunity to have both of my grandma’s at my house!  My maternal grandmother lives in South Carolina and my Paternal grandmother lives in Arizona.  Since neither of them had met Cailyn and they are very good friends they took this chance to meet here!!  It was such a great visit and in a small way it was like the old days when they use to live less then 3 miles away!  Oh, how I treasured those days of going to my grandparents homes for the summer.

I do not have all the pictures but here are a few from my camera.

SO SWEET!!!  Cailyn really took to Grandmommy and her calm ways.  Maybe Cailyn will be a lot like Grandmommy calm and collective (and not like me!!)

Lawson and Mamma II.  Yes, I pulled the kids out of school for the day.  This was a special occasion and felt it warranted a day out of school.  Of course, Miss Smarty Pants Lawson asked me  “mommy, are you going to go to jail since I am not going to school and I am not sick?”  Oops, that excuse came back to bite me!!

Mamma II brought up a ham and we all enjoyed a fabulous lunch together.

Happy Birthday to Me!!

December 30th I celebrated my 30th...(don't you dare correct me) birthday.  It was such a great birthday.  I was with my whole family and my Grandmother, Mamma II came up with her boyfriend Gene for a couple hours to celebrate with me!!

Mamma II even brought me up a cake!!

.  Here is the amazing part of Mamma II the woman just had open heart surgery August 25th and look at her!! She is beautiful and on the go!! Nothing slows her down.

I love my Mamma II!!

For Wesley's Christmas present she brought him up a cooked 9lb ham.  This might seem weird but Wesley is not the best eater but every time he has eaten Mamma II's ham he has gone crazy over it.  So she brought him up a ham.  We all asked him if we could have some and he said "Sure you can have some of my ham but not all of it."   He pretty much ate ham for an entire week!!
Also, Lawson and Wesley started calling Mamma II ~ Nana II.  Gotta love it!!

Thank you so much Mamma II for coming up and visiting us.  We love you so much!
