Call Me Maybe!!

If you watched the Olympics, you listen to the radio you KNOW the song Call me maybe. Lawson LOVES it, McKenna loves it…I even like it.  It has a great beat.  If you don’t know the song, let me…

While we were at the mountains this song was played many times.  Here are so fun family shots of the singing…

So call me…

Track out trip to VA

I am really liking this whole track out thing.  We can take trips in the middle of the school year and make it a long weekend.  NICE!! The kids and I went to VA to visit my family  to see Lauren & Will’s new home (stunning) and just relax (really there is no such thing with 3 kids but you get the point.)

We were planning on leaving on Thursday but Wesley got sick, a quick trip to the doctors only to find out Wesley had croup and I thought our trip was a no go.  The doctor told me he was not contagious so if he had a good night we could go.  Well, he had a great night so we were off.  3 kids, 6 hours, we made it there!

Saturday, we decided to go Apple Picking, Nana and Dah met us up Lauren’s.  Cailyn and Dah playing on the floor.DSC_2141

The big kids.  I didn’t notice it at first but looking back at pictures I can tell Wesley wasn’t really well, but he was having a great time.DSC_2159

After we went apple picking we went to a winery for a picnic and wine.  Picnic and wine, people really do that, and we did it with 4 kids!! DSC_2174

The kids had so much fun!!DSC_2187

Then we got back to Lauren’s and Wesley started feeling sick again.  My buddy was a fever and took a NAP! Crazy.  I actually missed my wild little boy!!

Luckily, the next day Wesley was feeling MUCH better. Amazing 24hrs can do.

Sunday, we had dinner at Mom and Dads. Ryan, Will, Lauren and McKenna came over.  We had yummy steaks and sweet potatoes (Lawson’s request.)

Uncle Ryan got lots of snuggle time with Cailyn.  She loves her uncle!

Then when it turned dark, the real party began.  SPARKLERS!!DSC_2252DSC_2256

As luck would have it I got sick too.  So we had to stay an extra day.  We had such a great time and I just love spending time up in VA!!  Love you all!!! We will see you again at Thanksgiving!!

Nana and Dad quick visit down south

My mom and dad made a quick visit to see us and the kiddos.  My parents are so good about making sure they do not go too long between visits.  Even if it means they are here for less then 36 hours.  We make the most of our visit while they are here.  You know like a trip to Costco (love that store)!  It was a double bonus that now that Cailyn is on a pretty good schedule so Collins and I were able to have our first date since Cailyn was born.  Yippee!!  We went to a local restaurant and watched college football- yep, we are the romantic type!!

Here are a few pictures I got.

Lawson went to the American Girl Doll Store

Last Christmas Lawson received an American Girl Doll from Santa.  This doll is one of her most treasured dolls and takes her every where we go.

While Lawson was in VA staying with her Nana and Dah this summer (yes, this is a late post, so sue me!!)  she got to go to the American Girl Doll Store in Tyson’s Corner.  What a treat!!

Here is Lawson and Lanie on their way to the AGD store.  It was like 100 degrees outside but she still insisted on wearing a sweater so Lanie had to also.  I am not sure if you can tell but the girls are wearing matching dresses I made. I love match-y match-y things!!

At the store Lawson got to pick out Lanie a whole new wardrobe.

While Lanie was at the salon Lawson and Nana had a tea party (pink lemonade and cookies).  She got to borrow a friend.  Her friend’s name was Anabelle.

Cailyn’s Baptism

I have taken a while to get these posted.  Not sure why, because Cailyn’s Baptism was so incredibly special to me.  On May 22, 2011 our sweet baby girl was Dedicated to Christ.  We promised to raise her as a Christian and have her know the Lord.  Although the ceremony lasts but a few moments the lesson will last a lifetime.

Before I move onto the pictures I want to share with you our meeting with the pastor.  Our whole family met with the Associate Pastor, John Michael, the Tuesday before.  It was a short meeting but just giving us the 411 on the meaning of Baptism and how things would be done.  Well, halfway through Lawson decided to start listening and started asking questions.  “How can Jesus be in our heart since he is so big?”  “How can God be everywhere?” and there were a few more I just can’t remember.  It made me so proud and felt that even though I have thrown her to the wolves (per say) and she no longer attends a Christian School we are laying a  foundation for her at home and at Church.  Whew!

On to the Baptism…

Lawson’s Ice Skating Party

DSC_0357

Saturday we celebrated Lawson’s 6th birthday at the ice rink.  IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!! It was great because not only did the kids ice skate but so did the parents. We provided ice skating lessons for everyone.  It was so fun to see everyone ice skate. The kids (who are much lower to the ground) pretty much had it going on.

DSC_0267

Even Wesley gave it a good try.  Since I can semi-ice skate I was left holding him up.  Literally!  He is not quite ready for ice skating lessons!!

DSC_1601

He is finally getting the hang of it…by letting me carry him.  My back was killing me!!

Grammy and Pops joined in the fun.  They did great and there were no injuries to report!!
