Smooth Talker
Wesley loves to taunt his sister to the point she is going to lose it, but then he says "I love you sissy, I love you, can I have a hug?"
I hurt myself the other day and it brought me to my knees. He said "Mommy whats wrong? Don't cry, mommy. I will take care of you."
The best one is when he knows he is not listening and about to get in trouble and he will out of the blue say "You look nice, mommy" or throws in a compliment "I like your shirt, mommy!
Forewarning Ladies: He is not only cute but a smooth talker...watch out!!

New Addition in our Garage
Bullhorns Collins could not pass up at a yard sale.
I am one lucky lady!
Actually, believe it or not I think the bullhorns are pretty cool. Collins says if I ever get a cadillac it will be on the front of my car! Good thing that is not in our budget!

Photo Shoot with Lawson
At my last MOPS meeting we had a guest speaker talk to us about Photography. (I love photography and if I had more time I would take a few classes.) There were a couple points she touched on and I decided to try them out with the perfect subject...Lawson
She said the best pictures are the ones without big "cheese" on the kids face (I totally agree)
Kids just being themselves... (not quite, but she is a ham)
I worked on changing out my settings and lighting...this one is really good.
One of my favorites. I love her hands in this picture. I love that I was able to capture how she holds her hands and how she still sometimes has a baby belly!!
Then I got her feet. She is my Flip-flop girl!
Then with a little doctoring up...this one is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE...
All I can say is WOW! Thank you to the lady who spoke at MOPS it was SO HELPFUL!!

It's Raining Flowers
My kids love to pick flowers. Their pockets/bags/play cars are always full of dead flowers. My neighbor has a camelia bush that is so pretty (the only thing that is pretty in their backyard) right at our fence line. And no, we do not live next to a junk yard- they like it looking like this. Please do not enlarge these pictures of their yard- it is scary.
I am getting off track. Sorry!
These flowers perfect to pick...
Then throw in the air!! What fun!!
Then if it is too high ask Mr "Climber Man" Wesley to grab some.
As of today there are only flowers on the "other" side of the fence and none on ours.
Did I do that?
Hope you are enjoying this beautiful weather!

Get Rid of Pacifier- Mission Complete
Guess who dropped his pacifier this week?? Yep, Wesley!!
Saturday night I was putting him to bed and he had his pacifier between his teeth and pulling on it. He pulled on it enough and it made a big hole. He told me "Mommy this broke it don't work." I explained he put a hole in it and it was broken and needed to be thrown away. His response "Go to store and buy me a new one?" What two year old says that???
After biting my tongue so I didn't laugh at him, I explained to him that was not an option and he needed to throw it away. To my surprise he went to the trash can and threw it away! That's was it! No more pacifiers and he slept through the night!
We've had a little trouble settling in for nap time and night time but he hasn't even asked for his pacifier. How easy is that???
Hopefully we don't regress. Amy mentioned that is a possibility. If he does I will personally put the hole in it myself (because I am nice like that.)
Great Job Wesley! I am so proud of you!!
Also, thank you to out there who commented on my Encouragement and Support Post!! You guys are the best!!
Now I need to work on Lawson!!

Going Vintage
Have I told you how hip our family is? Well, we are cutting edge over here! You know how the hip thing is "Going Vintage" well check this out...
It doesn't get more "vintage then this.
The stoller was Pops' (Collins' Dad) old stroller. This sucker is O-L-D and not because it was Pops as a child, it was an antique when he was strolled around in it. It actually is a great stroller and is has a very smooth ride still.
Do you think I would get some strange looks taking this stroller to the park?
That is the great things about kids...they don't care how they look. As long as they are having fun that is all that counts.
Who needs baby dolls when you have a little brother!
That's all folk!!

Lawson Ice Skating
This weekend Grammy and Pops came into town and took Lawson Ice Skating for the first time. Oh my goodness, we had such a great time. Well, Lawson and I did (we were the only ones on the ice) but I know Grammy and Pops had a good time watching!
Here we are arriving at the Ice House, you can't tell but I had butterflies in my belly. I have been ice skating two times in my life!
Here we are preparing to go on the ice. THIS WAS THE HARDEST PART! Getting the shoes on! At this point she told me "Mommy, I was just TALKING about Ice Skating. It doesn't mean I want to go Ice Skating" Me: "To bad kid, we are here, we are going"
All ready to go!! Doesn't she look excited? Maybe a little bit nervous but we are going to this!!!
Grammy and Lawson!!
Mommy and Lawson on the Ice! It looks like she is unsure but watch out...
There she goes!!
Having so much fun! She looks like a Princess!
There were a few falls but she had no problem getting up!
There was one time we needed some extra hugs!
SO MUCH FUN!! Mommy and Lawson!!
One more picture!!
I can not tell you how proud I am of Lawson! She did something new and with confidence!! I am SO PROUD of my little girl!!
Thank you Grammy and Pops!! This was such a wonderful memory!!!
***This was such a hit we are going to take lessons soon!!

Kid Talk
I can’t find my picture downloader thing-y so I am just going to have only words today. Sorry!
Wesley: Playing catch with Dah, W says to him “Nice catch, Dah!!” (You know because he is a good judge)
Lawson: Talking to Wesley “Wesley you know we have a responsibility”
Wesley: "I am not listening, I am not listening." (you don't have to tell me, I KNOW!!)
Have a great weekend!

Washing the Car
I have very eager helpers in my house. ESPECIALLY Lawson! If she isn't asking to mop my floors, she is cleaning the bathtub, or dusting, etc etc. Yes, I am lucky and no she did not get this cleaning gene from her mommy!
Our first pretty day Lawson and Daddy are washing the car! Yippee!
Then Wesley woke up and he wanted to join in the fun. Lawson helping prepare him.
Just the way I like it- the kids working together!
BTW- At what age do kids start earning an allowance? I am thinking 5 years old

27 months Measurement Myth or Fact?
My dad told me to measure Wesley at 27 months and double his height and that will give me his height when he finishes growing.
Today, at
Hmmm, somehow I find that hard to believe.
Anyone heard any other saying?
Because I am not buying this one.
Visit with Nana and Dah
Nana and Dah visited us this weekend. As always it was too short of a trip but we had a good time!
As soon as they arrived Nana and Lawson started playing dress up!! Wesley was right there with them!!
Saturday Nana and I went to a consignment sale at my church and scored some great clothes for the kids. While we were gone Dah was incharge of the kids (Collins was at a family funeral.) Oh the stories we heard when we got home! Too funny!!
Wesley loves to sit and watch "Funny Pug Videos" I think he could do that all day!!
(Sorry every picture of him is without pants! The boy will not wear pants at home)

Encouragement and Support
That is what friends are for! This week my friend, Jill, from college wrote a post about Diapers/Potty Training and asking for advice. In her post she mentioned me and how I have successfully potty trained Wesley at the young age of 2. It was such an honor that a friend thinks I did something well and would like my advice.
Sure, I will offer my advice, I have some to give. My friend Elizabeth also gave her advice as well! She is much better read then me and can give you stats and everything! She is always an awesome resource for me!!
It really got me thinking, Jill is on the right track. Blog land is not only to show what are children/family are up too, brag on our kids (yes, I am proud of my kids and I am not scared to tell people,) but to ask for our friends’ advice and support. Lots of us are in the exact same circumstances, or will be soon enough. Why not lean on our friends?
I will be the FIRST to tell you I do not have all the answers. My mothering technique is the example of being raised by great parents and“Trial and Error.” I truly try my best but do not have everything right, and Lord knows, I pray for help every night!!
There are two areas that I struggle with and could use some advice…
1) My daughter, 4.5 years old, almost in kindergarten, sucks her finger (kinda like a thumb sucker just uses her index finger)
2) My son, 2 years 2 month, is potty trained, yet still uses a pacifier at naptime and night time.
Are these situations ideal? No. Do I wish to change this? You bet.
This list can go on but these are two examples were somehow I missed the boat on correcting these “no-no’s.” I too can use some advice on how to fix these issues. BTW, ANY ADVICE would be greatly appreciated!!
I feel so blessed (for lots of reasons) but on this blog, I seem to have a steady group of people following this blog. People who seem to really care to see what we are up too, see how fast our kids are growing, and sometimes think I have something insightful to say. I would hope that those people looking at my blog, look with encouraging and supportive hearts. If not, please stop reading!!
As mothers we are in this together. So my friends, let’s continue to encourage each other, give advice, and support one another on this journey of motherhood- which by the way is a lifetime effort :)
Love,
M

Not my son?
It wasn't my son that was moved up from the baby room to the big kid room this week because they thought he was 3!!
It wasn't my son who went into timeout at MOPPETS for throwing toys at his friends.
Not the boy who says "Oh no, something happened!" while shaking fiercely a container of glitter all over the carpet.
Or the boy who desides "I want milk NOW" and proceeds to OPEN the refridge, pull out the BRAND new gallon of milk, take off the top, and carry it across the kitchen.
Finally, it wasn't my son whom they said "He doesn't listen well does he?"
I mean because if it was...
I would wonder who is mother was!

Got Toys?
Yep, we got 'em. Do you want to know where?
Our guest bathroom shower stall.
What? You don't have toys there too?
I am not sure who's idea this was but the kids thought it was AWESOME to play in a "Sea of Toys"
They were as happy as Pigs in Mud!
Then it was clean up time!!
Mommy is always ruining the fun!
