Happy Halloween

I hope that you all had a great Halloween.  Our day was rainy and dreary but I guess that just makes things more interesting!
The kids were all geared up first thing in the AM in their Halloween gear. Oh yes, we love Halloween!Kids saying Happy Halloween
We also carved our pumpkin the day before.  This year our pumpkin was HUGE!!

Then when it was time to go trick or treating we were all a little worried because it was pouring.  We did not go to the church festival up the street like we normally do, but Collins did take the big kids out!! What a trooper!
All my kiddos ready to go…We have our Knight in Shining Armor, The Princess Sleeping Beauty, and the Royal Cow…

4th of July at the Beach

This year the Fitts family got into the family car and headed down to the beach to visit Grammy and Pops.  It was a nice long weekend and we had a great time.  I have lots of pictures to share of the kids adventures but I thought I would first share our 4th of July pictures and how we celebrated.

Our first stop was the annual 4th of July Parade in Beaufort.  It was a little accident that we arrived there 30 minutes before the festivities started but a great accident, because the kids loved seeing all the floats, double decker bus, and getting candy (of course).  Had I known there was going to be a parade they would have been in their 4th outfits…oh well.

Cailyn enjoyed the…sounds.  Ha!

DSC_0372

Wesley had a great view but the wind was fierce so he didn’t last long on his daddy’s shoulders.

DSC_0369

While the big kids and their grandparents watched the parade close-up, Collins, Cailyn and I were in the shade.  Perfect chance for a close-up of us – boy I have a handsome hubby!

After the parade we went to the Maritime museum.  DSC_0384DSC_0387

Caught ya…Lawson is always picking up her brother, ugh.  I am not sure if it is to really help him or what, but goodness she is always picking him up!

Here are 2 of my cuties.  We will have to go back when Cailyn is old enough to get a picture of her in the ship!

After the museum we went by the waterfront and had lunch.  Lawson checking out all of the boats  It was a windy but gorgeous day!

After naptime we all got dressed up in our 4th of July outfits and went poolside for a cookout.  Here are some of pictures of the evening…

We had a great 4th of July.  Wesley favorite part of the evening were the Morehead City Fireworks.  They were actually amazing.  Wesley now wishes everyday there were fireworks!

Preview of Pictures

This weekend we had some professional pictures made of our family.  OMG!  She sent us a preview of our photo shoot and I am blown away at the results.   If you want gorgeous pictures of your family and live in Raleigh, I have got your lady, Kristy Fourshee, she is wonderful to work with and I can’t stop staring at the pictures because they turned out so well.  I can’t wait to see the rest!!

Teamwork

Daddy got some mulch for the play set area and we had 2 eager workers to help him!!  They worked so hard together!

DSC_1664

While they were working Lawson and Wesley were singing “What’s it going to take…teamwork”  Anyone know where that is from? If you guessed Wonder Pets you are correct!

DSC_1665

Wesley working with big boy tools!

DSC_1668

Lawson always a diva working in nice school clothes and flip flops thank goodness for washer machines!!

DSC_1669

Cailyn was out there too…Keeping an eye things.

DSC_1672

I would love to show you the after pictures but there are none.  Most of the mulch pile is still there.  In this case the saying “Many hands make light work” does NOT hold true!!! However, they were having fun working with Daddy and that is all that matters.

My Family

I had something else written here but I started crying and couldn’t complete it- so I erased it.  I guess my emotions are still everywhere.  Why was I crying? I was thinking about my siblings, my parents, my husband and my kids.  Although there are something's I will NEVER understand and still grieve over, I am reminded of how many blessings surround me.  Here are a few of my many blessings.

I have a wonderful devoted husband who means the absolute world to me.  When I see him playing with our kids I feel like my heart is going to pop out of my chest because I am so happy and in love.  He is a loving, fun, yet stern daddy.  He is my partner for life and I love him with all my heart!!

DSC_1391

Lawson my oldest daughter who is a cookie cutter image of me (scary!) and tests me like no other but has a heart of gold.  She is so smart, so observant and loves to be your helping hand. She is such an excellent big sister and takes her role very seriously.

DSC_1397

Wesley, yes he is a momma’s boy but he is daddy’s buddy.  Wesley is a free spirit!  He is so full of life!  He is rough and tough but has soft heart. I love my Wes-Wes hugs.  Wesley is a protective older brother and can not pass Cailyn without giving her a kiss.

DSC_1405

Last but not least Happy Cailyn.  She is just perfect as my happy 7 week old.  I have no idea what type of personality she will have but right now she is easy going and happy!  She goes with the flow rather then going against it.  She has fit perfectly into our family and it is amazing how I can no longer remember life without her.

DSC_1392

I love being a wife to Collins and a mom to these 3 terrific kids.  Okay, I am crying again…

Thank you God for my beautiful family!

Father Daughter Dance

This weekend our church hosted a Father/Daughter Dance.  I am pretty sure I was more excited then either of them initially!  I have great memories of my MC Father/Daughter Dance and I was excited that Lawson and Collins have the same opportunity.  Once the two parties (who were actually going to the dance got dressed up they were excited too!!)

Collins and Lawson all dressed up!

The report back:  They had a lot of fun! However,  Lawson and Collins DID NOT win the dance contest.  Haha!! No fault of Lawson’s I am sure.
