Wesley's first baseball season

Wesley decided this fall to try something other than soccer and has fallen in love with baseball. He is on a very talented baseball team that is kid pitch and age 9-10 (he is 8.5). He has held his own but most of
the players have played since t-ball. He really enjoys it and that is all that matters. Right now his team is 9-0 with one more game in the regular season (tomorrow). Wesley is slightly intimidated hitting the ball but has told me "mom the chances of me just walking to first base are better than me hitting the ball" haha! Too smart for his own good. Here are some pictures from the season! He is sure is cute in his uniform (bias mom comment)

Community Helper Day

Cailyn has Community Helper day tomorrow and Cailyn has elected to be a teacher. She is inspired by her Nana and Grammy to be a teacher!!! Special thanks to Lawson for getting her outfit all ready!! Have I ever mentioned how much Lawson loves to dress-up (torture) Cailyn?!?! She loves doing her hair & make-up like a her own little puppet!!! Ha!

Incredible Day - Baptism

Wesley decided months ago that he was ready to give his life to Christ and he wanted to be baptized at our former church in Raleigh, Driven. We drive down in a Saturday (took 7 hrs) stayed in a hotel and had the most incredible experience on Sunday surrounded by some family and friends. We knew Wesley was getting baptized what we didn't know was I (Maridith) was getting baptized. I had given my life to Christ several years ago but did not take the final step until August 7th. Wesley and I were baptized by our dear friend, Pastor Doug. Wesley received a beautiful Cross necklace from his Grammy and pops and loves wearing it. Before we left we decided to stop by our favorite stomping ground, the Farmer's Market.

Sister Time at Pearmonds 2016

One of the biggest perks of living in NoVA is having family close by. We see each other maybe once a month sometimes more but when we get together we have the best time!!!! Apparently when you live close by you also dress alike too! Lauren and I showed up in similar outfits and Cailyn and I planned our matching outfits. We love family time.

Rainy days don't get us down

Thursday morning we woke up to a nice rain shower. These kids were excited to use umbrellas on their walk to the school bus!!! When I see Cailyn's excitement and energy oozing out of her I sometimes catch myself singing a song Mama 2 use to sing all of the time "I've got the joy joy joy joy down in my heart"

The kids have had a great first week of school but we are tired and looking forward to the 3 day weekend.

Cailyn's first day of soccer

Today is Cailyn's first time on the soccer field and you can't wipe the smile off her face!!! She has never run this much in her life and she is still smiling! A friend from her class is on her team. It is going to be a great season!!! Go Cailyn!

Start of School - Many firsts!

August 29, 2016 has been a huge milestone! Lawson's first day of middle school, Wesley's first day of 3rd grade and Cailyn's first day of Kindergarten. Lawson was nervous ( locker issues), Wesley is ecstatic summer is over (?!?!), Cailyn bubbling with excitement to start big girl school. Mommy- struggling.

This morning went beautifully. Earlier start but wonderful. The part I was nervous about was my little sweet Cailyn getting on the school bus but her brother promised me he would take care of her and I totally trust him! With Cailyn so exited it was hard to say no to the bus!! Prayers for a great school year and new beginnings for everyone!

Lawson's 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony

5th grade promotion!  I am so proud (and really impressed) at  how much Lawson has grown this year. Moving to a new state, new school, and making new friends is hard, but she handled it all so well.  We started out the school year with a few little bumps but ended her elementary years with straight A's 4th semester.  Lawson is very organized, responsible and creative!!! I know she is going to continue to excel in school.  We love you, Lawson.

All about Mommy by Cailyn

I really need to start using some anti-wrinkle cream. Out of the mouth of babes!!! XXOO

Middle School Orientation

This is happening! Lockers, 7 teachers a day, a school with 1400 students!!! Crazy!! ... Lawson is finishing up 5th grade beautifully and will be ready! Just not sure her mama is ready! Wow, just wow.

Dinosaur Land

After Wesley's cold and windy soccer game (Wesley scored again) we hit the road and went to Winchester to Dinosaur Land. It is 55 years old and looks like it too but it was fun to visit. Lawson and Wesley were explaining to us when they saw it they were too old for Dinosaurs and this isn't cool. My the time we left they both were really enjoying themselves and Cailyn of course loved it too. One nice thing about not owning a house (and no yard) is we are free on the weekends for adventures. VA has lots to offer and places to explore!!
