Working Together & Following up on Last Weeks Post

Like typical kids Lawson and Wesley fuss and fight like brothers and sisters should.  However most of the time they play beautifully together.  It is amazing what their creative minds will come up with.

The other night Lawson got out the play table and was going to have an Animal Parade.  To have an animal parade she had to "fix" the table.  From upstairs she brought down 10+ stuffed animals and all of their tools.

Then the spectators, me and daddy, needed chairs.  Wesley bringing chairs over. He is very strong!

Table needed more tweaking.

Lawson working right along side Wesley.
Sadly we did not have the "Animal Parade" because all the "fixing" took too much time and we had to go to bed.  I know, I know...mean mommy.  Never the less, they had fun and I love watching them play so nicely together!!

Also, from my "Remind me to tell you about this next week" Post.  Wesley was asked to be apart of a Duke "Tool Use Study." I figured why not it should be fun. Remember Wesley is the "worker man" and he LOVES tools so he should do okay. Well, he aced and I mean ACED the study. He figured out very quickly the best tool to use to get a bunny, dog, cat out of a tube by touch. He was going so fast the coordinator could not keep up!! Wesley was getting lots of praises from the women for being "so smart" and they were shocked that he was not wearing any diapers. Then Wesley surprised them when he was able to pick out an orange basketball. He first picked out a white ball threw it a couple times to me and then said "I don't like this ball, I want an orange ball." Picky, Picky. Then went to the drawer and picked out an orange ball. Now he only knows two colors, pink and orange, but I have to say I left there feeling mighty proud of my little boy!! Way to Go, Wesley!!

Wesley a Cook or Worker Man?

I am not sure if you can tell but Wesley has on a pink apron plus a Lowes Home Improvement Apron.
I think he is going to be like his daddy and be both!!

Wesley's new thing to say to me:  "Mommy you are my best friend"
(melts my heart every time)

Girl's Weekend in Florida

Hello, I am back from the Sunshine State.  I spent 4 wonderful days in FL with 5 of my best friends from college.  This trip we have been planning for 8+ months but have not been able to get together for 2+ years because of pregnancies, babies or just life obligations.  After being together for 4 days I do not think we will allow more then 1 year passing for us all to get together.  Spending time with good friends is good for the soul! I think we can all agree on that.

We met up in Orlando, FL and boy was I happy to see palm trees and sun!!  Melinda lives in a beautiful home outside of Orlando and she and her husband were gracious enough to let 5 of us crash there.  Let me tell you she has a grapefruit tree and orange tree in her backyard. We had fresh juice every morning. What a luxury. She also has a pool but it was a tad too cold for that!

This is just a palm tree.  I forgot to take pictures of their backyard.

Charity, Charlotte, Heather, Melinda, Donna and Me.  It feels like no time has passed when we all get together!

Although a few things have changed....Melinda and Donna are expecting in 6 weeks!!

We did make it to a German Resturant for Beer and Festivities.  This place was SO MUCH FUN!!

It was Melinda's husbands birthday.  He was our team captian....

In splitting a German Boot.  You have pass it around the table and not set it down until it is all done. Me in my non-mommy role....

Oh my kids will be so proud!!
Oh well, at least they will know I have a life outside of being a mom.  I had such a great time.  I love these ladies like they are my sisters.  I am so blessed to have them in my lives.  Same time next year I will see you all again!!

I have to add that my wonderful husband did an outstanding job holding down the fort.  The house was clean, the laundry done, and the pantry stocked!!  Collins is such a great husband and father and I am so blessed!!   He did learn one thing that being a SAHM is NOT EASY!!!

Dozen Roses

Guess who got a Dozen Roses this week?  It wasn't me...rats!

Lawson.  Well they say they were for me, but I am not so sure. Lawson received a dozen roses from our neighbors, Bob and Nancy. She LOVES them.

L-O-V-E
Our neighbor bought them the day after Valentine's Day 50% off and gave us a dozen, his sisters and his wife a dozen!! What a good guy!

Miss Lawson, How do you do??

Let's see...."I got to hang out with my BFF Alicia, go to a movie and see Alvin and the Chipmunks, and then get ice cream.  I AM GREAT"

All dressed up to see Alicia!!
Lawson was invited to a movie with her BFF and got to go with just Alicia and her mom. AKA- she was mommy and daddy free (relative free) in a public place. There are only a handfull of people I would trust to do this with but felt perfectly comfortable with Alicia's mom. Then I got an 1.5 hours to do errands. Child- free. (That was nice!!)  Lawson had so much fun!

I should note that Alicia is Lawson's friend from when she was in daycare (1.5 years ago.)  They still remain the best of friends and talk about each other all the time.  It is amazing what their little brains remember!!

Is it just me or does Lawson appear to like the camera???

Brother and Sister Love!!

I love capturing pictures of my kids with no cheesy smiles, no staging (messes included) just moments showing my kids in their true loving moments.  They do happen quite often, I just normally do not have a camera near-by.

I caught the two of them on the computer.  Lawson showing Wesley the ropes.

Snuggled on the couch watching a movie.

Then there are those moments where Wesley is a pestering little brother...he just can't help himself!! This is him showing his love!
Kids will be kids!! I am so glad mine are loving...most of the time!

Valentine's Day 2010

Happy Valentine's Day!! I hope you are all having a wonderful day with people you love!  This morning the kids were surprised with gifts and cards when they woke up.  Lawson received from her mom and dad a bouquet of Zinnia hair bows and a heart t-shirt.  Miss Nosey had already seen her gifts so when she opened them she said "I already saw this!!" So much for that surprise!  Then it was time to open cards!

The kids were gifted with stickers and money!

Wesley opening up his Thomas the Train Valentine's Day Card!

Some of our relatives were nice enough to send a few dollars.  Wesley is sitting here saying "I like money."

Happy Valentine's Day from Wesley he says "I am stuck on you!!"

Princess Lawson says "Have a Sparkling Valentine's Day"

Thank you to our family who remembered us on Valentine's Day!! You always make us feel so loved!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

We LOVE you!!

Pre-school Valentine's Day Party

Yesterday Lawson's school had a Valentine's Day/Jesus Love you performace.  It was so nice!! Lawson sang, did a few hand motions, and looked just as cute as a button!!

So proud of our little girl!!

Daddy and Lawson

Mommy Lawson, and Wesley...why are they both making the same face?
I think we were all preparing for the yummy desserts they provided.  I am not ashamed to say it...I had seconds on some yummy brownies!

I hope everyone has a nice Valentine's Day!

Lawson News

Wow, this week has been a busy week (have you missed my posts?) and I have two things to share about Lawson.

1.We started the car pool line at pre-school this week to prepare the 4 year olds for the car pool line next year.  Lawson got out of the car and was lead to the school front doors.  I watched my baby walk independently to her school without her mommy.  Watching this made me shed a few tear and of course, she loves this independence!!

2. I signed my baby up for Kindergarten next year....

Someone hand me the tissues!!

What a week!!

Wesley Talk

Recently Wesley has been playing with a calculator and pretends it is a cell phone.  Yesterday on our way to pick up Lawson from school this was his conversation...

Wesley: Hello, uh huh.(pause)  We go pick up sissy (pause)  Daddy at work (pause) We go pick up sissy, I go inside (pause)  Uh,huh, Mommy go too fast...

Mommy: Mommy isn't going to fast!

Wesley: uh huh

Mommy: Who are you talking too?

Wesley: I don know!

The boy cracks me up!!

Just trying to write down all of these precious moments- so I never forget!

Snow Day- Day 2

Sunday was a snow day and it was a blast!! It was so sunny and just a winter wonderland outside!

Lawson sleeding with our neighbor Bob

Little Guy enjoying the snow.

I love this picture!!

Swinging! He stayed in here for 30mins. He had a blast!!

Mommy and Wesley!  Don't ask me why he has a frown on...well maybe I do know?

Mommy and my kids!!

Bob and Lawson building a snowman

God Bless America Snowman!

Nancy and Wesley enjoying the winter activities! He is smiling now that he is in a different outfit!

More sledding.  She is fearless!

And this is the reason why Wesley's pictures are in B&W.  He was TICKED OFF wearing pink!  He told me... "this isn't mine its sissy's."  How does he know gender specific colors already?

Day 2 was a fun day-despite the pink snowsuit!!

Day 3 and 4 we are tired of the snow...Ready for Spring!!
