Weekend News

This weekend was just the 4 of us and we really didn't do too much. Collins got one last duck hunting trip in before the end of the season. It was a success so all it does it make him look forward to the next season. Only 10 more months to go!

We did take a small family outing. I wish I could say we went somewhere exciting but we went to Target for the basics. Collins took charge of Lawson and I took charge of Wes. I got the easy job!!This is the two of them asleep after our big trip to Target!!

If I haven't told you all I have a wonderful husband. On Sunday, he made breakfast for everyone, mopped the kitchen floor, got Lawson down for a nap and then proceeded to clean out the garage. What a good guy! Then later that evening Wes took a nap around 7pm and I fell asleep with him on the couch. The next thing I know it is 11:30pm!! When I woke up everyone was asleep!! I had missed the whole entire evening (dinner time, bath time, story time- everything). When I finally talked to Collins today he said "the doctor said when he sleeps you sleep" what an angel!! I really did need to catch up on my sleep because for 2 night in a row both Wes and Lawson have been up at the same time. Thank you Collins for everything!!

2 Week Check-up

Wesley had his 2 week check-up and now weighs 9lbs 2oz!! He is a good eater! So the next time we go back it will be for his 1 month appointment. This go around is not like when Lawson was born. I was at the doctors at least once a week for weights checks with her. With the 2nd baby things do come a little easier!! Thank goodness!

Nana and Dah came down this weekend and were a lifesavor for me. I got a little sick and worn down so they saved the day for me!! Mom and Dad thank you for all your help!!!

Lawson's Stocking

I am stealing this idea from Karen, sorry! I saw her beautiful stockings and realized my family has not seen Lawson's stocking. Of course, in Maridith fashion, it was completed 2 days before Christmas. Nothing like taking a project down to the wire.

This stocking was inspired by the stocking Collins's grandmother, "Fitts" made me 10 years ago. It is a crazy patchwork design, with hand embroidery or bead work on every seam. I think she would be proud!!
I don't have one for Wes and it won't look this girly. Expect that to be complete December 23, 2008!!

How to keep a 2 year old busy!

You give them a digital camera!!! What else! In one of my desperate attempts to nurse Wes and keep Lawson busy I let her hang on to the camera while sitting on the couch. Little did I know she knew how to turn it on and work it!! She would face the lens to her and say "CHEEEEESE" Here are the results! Not bad for an amateur. I guess after 2 years of nothing but flashes in her eyes and over 5000 pictures on our digital camera you can pick these things up. At least this gives you a good look at her beautiful blue eyes!
And if you are wondering- no harm was done to the camera!!

We are a Family of Four

Mommy with her Angels
Lawson getting to hold Wesley

Lawson reading a book to Wesley

The help has left us and it is just the 4 of us now. We are getting adjusted and Lawson seems to be a little more accepting that Wesley is here to stay. However, she still calls him Baby Brother or Tinny ( no idea where that came from). The teachers at daycare thought his name was Timmy for a couple of days until my sister cleared it up. Lawson loves to help and really stays on her best behavior if you put her to work!! Go figure!

Wes is doing wonderful. Much like his daddy he loves to eat and sleep. I have to wake him up at night so I don't burst!! Hopefully, this pattern sticks until I can let him sleep through the night.

Dr appts: We did go to the doctors last Thursday and he weighed 7lbs 14oz plus slightly jaundice. We had to go back on Saturday and he weighed 8lbs 5oz!! 7 oz in 2 days! I am sure he is now back up to birth weight. Good job Wes!!!

5 days to go!

Well, we have 5 more days until Baby Fitts due date. Due date and expected arrival date are two different things. The doctor told me 2 weeks ago my body was ready so expect an early arrival!! We held our breath through Christmas and no baby! 1 week ago the doctor said you have dropped, your cervix is extremely soft it will be any day, so expect an early arrival! Then yesterday with 6 days to the due date the doctor asks me "why are you here, you should of had this baby by now?" I am thinking to myself "no kidding!!" But here I sit with what feels like a bowling ball between my hips and no baby!! So I wait patiently wondering should I start on my next to do list or put it off. I am a natural procrastinator so I guess I will just push it aside!! He will come when he is ready. It must be too cold for him right now!! It was 20 degrees when we woke up this morning. Sunday it will be 60 degrees so that might be a good day! That is it from here! We will keep you posted when Baby Fitts arrives!
