Day 4 of Vacation

I never got to finish my vacation story. So I will start where I left off. Not that anyone really cares but this is my blog and this is my scrapbook. Day 4 of our vacation we decided to do stuff that the resort had to offer. Horseback riding, playing on the playground and going to the indoor pool.

Lawson horseback riding. This was suppose to be a pony ride for $10. Let me tell you, this was not a pony and she went around the stable 5 times. NOT IMPRESSED.

But it is for the kids....I need to remember and Lawson enjoyed herself!

Then we went to the park. Lawson was in the modeling mood!

The phrase for the week (and past month) from Wesley is "I wanna drive, I wanna drive" Here he is driving...very happy!

This makes me happy!!

I didn't bring my camera to the indoor pool, but we were there. Day 4 was a nice relaxing family day!!! I love days like these!

Luray Caverns and Vacation Lessons

Tueday we ventured up to Luray, VA and went to Luray Caverns. Now most days I plan everything to a tee, where we go, what we do, and what we are going to eat....Well, on vacation I was off my game. We didn't leave the condo until 10:00AM, it took about an hour to get there and we had NOT had lunch. Can you guess how this is going to go?

Let the story begin...

While we were in the parking lot I accidentally plowed down Lawson with my backpack. Opening up an existing wound and leaving her dripping blood on her knee. Let's see no band aids or ointment in the car (took it into the condo), which left me with napkins and packing tape...PERFECT band aid.

Lets go and we WILL have fun kids...

Now this place is amazing and we were all in awe by its beauty!!

Lawson was really enjoying the view

The words 'Wesley' and 'quiet' will never go in the same sentence unless he is asleep...So when an old cranky women told Wesley to "hush" I was not shocked, but I should of taken it as a sign of what was too come. She pretty much doomed us.

See still pretty...

Wesley has now kicked off one shoe, and getting very impatient. I tried feeding him snacks but that was not enough. He was OVER the whole inside a mountian scene.

Also,See Lawson's blood stain knee..

Lawson loved listening and learning about what she was looking at...

Then once we got to the lowest point in the cave...As they say "All hell broke loose!"

And pictures are worth a 1000 words

Let's try one more time....At least Lawson and I look cute

Then Wesley and I took the 'speed tour' the rest of the way. He pretty much yelled the whole way out... NICE!!

Collins and Lawson got to enjoy the rest of Luray Caverns. AMAZING!

Still cool...

Lawson was such a trooper and dispite her rough start really did enjoy herself.
With Wesley, as soon as we got outside he was happy as a clam. I don't think he liked being below a mountain! That is my perspective and I am sticking too it... Okay maybe the real lesson is...
Feed you kids and get your act together, even on vacation!
We did go to a small resturant in downtown Luray and a couple came and sat next to us and the man said "see he was just hungry." Our reputation follows us...LOVELY!!

Indoor Water park

Monday we ventured to the indoor/outdoor Water park Massanuhten Resorts has to offer. The place is awesome!! If you have followed our family this summer you know we love the water! What better way to end the summer then going to a fantastic Water park.

Let the fun begin...

Wesley got a little unsettled in the kiddie area so we ventured out to the big kid area. Gotta love the mushroom
Yep, Lawson loves it too!

On the Lazy River with daddy.

Then it was time to get some pictures of Lawson and Daddy. Guess who had to sit this one out....

Daddy talked Lawson into going down the big slide....Look at me Mommy!!

My big girl went down the big slide...not once but 6 times!

The Water park is not just for kids!

Showing off for the camera!

Then it was time for Wesley to go on the Lazy River.

I was at the Water park, but I am always the one taking the pictures...then when it was time for my "photo opportunity" guess who was trying to steal that from me???

Here we go...see proof I was at the Water park too!

FUN, FUN, FUN!! We will be back!!

Mother Notebook

Note to self...

When you leave your son with a plate full of peas and he starts saying "b-ball, b-ball" he is not referring to the basketball in the den...

He is playing basketball with his peas.... I mean duh they are round and can be projected pretty far

NICE!

Family Vacation- Day 1

As the summer came to a close our family went on a vacation. I am sure you are thinking to yourself "what have all your other trips been?" Well, this was our 'family vacation' that included ALL of us rather then just 3. Collins had 9 days off of work (including weekends) and we were off to the Virgina Mountains. My parents were sweet enough to let us use their timeshare for our vacations and this year we went to Massanutten Resorts. The first 3 days we were there my parents and brother joined us. It was perfect!! Thanks Mom and Dad!!

Here are pictures of the first part of our trip with Nana, Dah & Uncle Ryans...

The kids just love how strong Uncle Ryan is!

Electric kid!!

For some odd reason being in the car 5 hours to the resort was enough for Wesley!! He did not want to be in ANY car with Lawson!

Nana, Dah and Wesley

Then best part of the trip for Wesley was going Putt-putting. Since he is still too small he was confined to the stroller. He would yell with excitement at the top of his lungs "Putt-putt" he loved watching everyone. This is how he was for 18 holes! Watching very intensely.

Lawson was a good sport the first few holes

Then she quit...no LPGA for this little one

As we played Wesley waited patiently...

Then finally is was time!! He was so excited he could hardly contain himself. If you know Wesley when he gets really excited his whole body shakes. Nana tried to show him how to get the ball in the hole

Daddy trying to teach him to putt. Now when it comes to teaching Wesley how to hit a driver I think I am going to recommend Dah or Uncle Ryan for that one!! (WINK)

That was the first day of our vacation...Lots more pictures and stories to tell!! Stay Tuned

New Beginnings

Yesterday was the day!! Our little girl's first day of the 4 year old Pre-school. It was a very exciting day. Lawson didn't really show it at first but she was excited. She got up promptly got dressed on her own, helped pack her lunch and book bag and off we went. I wish it was that smooth, but you get the picture.

If I didn't feel like a chicken with my head cut off I might of been a little sad but since my act wasn't quite together there was no time for tears. Plus, I am not sad, this is a stepping stone in her development and I am excited for her!! She loves school and loves learning...what is to be sad over??? Now next year when she starts Kindergarten might be another story!

Here is my sweet girl on her first day of preschool!! To read about her outfit go here

She loved getting her picture taken this day!! When I went to pick her up from school she didn't want to leave...I think it was a success!

The person who was sad and cried and asked for 'sissy' a hundred times on Monday was Wesley...Oh he missed her! Now that almost made me cry!!

Then today Welsey and I went to MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers). Technically it was Wesley's first day of a MOPPETS group. I was a little nervous because he does not do well at the Church Nursery. Let me tell you he was smiling ear to ear when I picked him up. He loved it!! See new beginnings...

(picture taken by Lawson)

My friend, Heather, has been trying to get me involved in MOPS for years and I resisted (not sure why but I did). Let me tell you...I LOVE IT!! I have been missing out, but I am so happy to be apart of this fantastic group of mothers now.

This week Lawson, Welsey, and I are all starting something new and it has been wonderful!!

Beatiful Day, GO OUTSIDE!!

I am loving these beautiful days we've been enjoying here in NC. High 75, no humidity, few bugs...PERFECTION!

Last Friday, we picked up so Micky D's (I know, I know-whatever) and went outside to have a picnic.

I think the outdoor air helped Wesley's appetite, he ate a whole Cheeseburger

Miss Lawson loving the fresh air too

Picnics are fun!

After our picnic, it was time to play...

This is when I realize my baby boy is no longer a baby but a toddler... (sniff, sniff)

Watch this momma! (Famous last words for a boy who has no fear!)

ENJOY THE WEATHER!
