Kids Recent Artwork

Artwork came home this week for the big kids and thought I would share. Of course, I had to share Cailyn's!!! It goes in birthing order!! I have always know Lawson is an artist but I was pleasantly surprised how good Wesley is too!!!! Enjoy!

Back To School...

12 days off of school: 7 of those snow days, 1 teacher workshop, 4 weekend days....it was time!!!!

We really did have a great time together but we need to be back on schedule. Isn't insane how much snow is still around? But the roads are 90% clear so off they go!!!

Cailyn's 5th Birthday

Happy Birthday to the sweetest 5yr old in the world!!!! This girl just brightens up a room with her happy demeanor! So blessed to call her my baby girl!!!

I have to add just a little more... This is a child who asks for nothing!!! She is happy with anything!! She plays well by herself and is most content with little to nothing. If she does
ask for something impromptu at the store and I say no. No is the answer and she moves on. She doesn't whine or have a tantrum. I don't know what the future holds and it may not be he same for the years to come but I have say "thank you" for these later years!!! It had been nothing but a joy!!!!

For her birthday we met up with the family to celebrate (fun, fun), took her to Target to pick out a gift and then out for Mexican! She said it was the best day EVER! But honestly every day is the best day ever!!! She loves life and everyday is a gift.

Snowzila 2016

Our welcome to Virgina snow has been one for the record books. We knew it would be a big one so the kids and I went to my parents' house to ride out the storm. Collins unfortunately has to work the whole time and I didn't want to be stranded in a townhouse. We are having a great time with mom and dad and
Ryan is here too. We watched snow/ blizzard conditions for almost 36hrs. I think we got a total of 23"!!! Haymarket 30" It is so much snow!!! Can't really sled on it until it melts a little! Hasn't stopped the kids from trying!!! School is already canceled Monday and Tuesday! Enjoying this time with the family!!

Preparing for 2016 Winter Storm

We are getting prepared!! We are predicting 18-24" of snow!!! This will be the most snow any of the kids have ever seen!!! School was canceled today (.25" of snow Thurs night), school has already been canceled tomorrow and 2 hr delay for Monday. They don't mess around up here.

I, of course, am preparing by making pretty pillows :). I am often inspired at the most inconvenient times but it works for me!!!

Flashback 7yrs ago

Facebook shows you pictures from your past on that day. Today it showed me pictures from 7 yrs ago and it was snowing in Raleigh!!!! They are such great pictures!!! Crazy how much has changed in 7 years. We added another kid to our pack, the kids are huge now, We moved states and Mr Chew was still with us!!! In 2 days we are expecting 1-3 feet of snow! Picture included. Enjoy the flashback!!!

The Saraceno Family Visit

We had such a great time seeing the Saraceno Family this weekend. The got here Saturday afternoon and left Monday morning. The boys got in lots of Minecraft and Pokemon time. While Danielle and I just talked and laughed! I showed her the coolest grocery store ever (required an hour and a half tour). Sunday we went to the air and space museum. Like most museum visits the adults enjoyed it more then the kids! We had such a great time and miss them already!!!

Upward Basketball Season 3

Today Wesley had his first basketball game of the season and Collins is the assistant coach. Wesley was of course complaining to go as he super excited about his friend, Brandon, coming into town. Once we got there was warned up to the idea of playing. It also helped he got the first basket for either team. The team is very good and the scoreboard showed 28-18 but apparently there is a "mercy rule" and it was 48-18. Win or lose the kids had a great time!!! Wesley ended up scoring 2 baskets. Fun times!!!

Afterwards we went to one of our favorite places around here Buckland Farmer's Market.

Wesley's 2nd Grade Merchant Day

Merchant Day at school!!! We (Lawson and I) have helped Wesley make 40, 4-0 hand fortune tellers!!! Hope he makes lots of "bear bucks" today!! He has to pay his workers!!! His marketing strategy are these fortunes are color, fun to play with a friend and positive. Wesley came up with all the positive fortunes. Examples: "You will make a new friend," "If you work hard you will get good grades," "You will beat the next of your game."
