Cailyn’s First Day in Preschool 2yr old room

Miss Cailyn, Miss Cailyn.

We were all so excited about our first day of Preschool!!! Cailyn’s first day was FANTASTIC.  We took pictures.

She walked right in and started playing and never looked back for me.

When I was waiting around, wishing for maybe a little whimper, she turned around waved at me and said “Bye mommy, go”

Okay…that went tooooo well.

When she got home she was EXHAUSTED and took a 4hr nap.

The next day (we go 3 days a week) We walked in and I got some more pictures.

I love a little kid with a big backpack.

Well, the second and 3rd day have not gone as well as the 1st.  She was sad, cried or whimpered the whole entire day.  At one point when they told the class they were going outside to play she got so upset she made herself throw up.  The had to leave her in the front office and there she got to entertain everyone so she was absolutely FINE!!! What in the world???? The teachers had to hold her ALL day.  If she was held she was fine.

Conclusion…I think this is a bit too much change for Cailyn.  At first it was fun but then when it became a regular thing it wasn’t as fun.  PLUS, I think Cailyn might be an “attention hog.”  Just saying it is in the realm of possibilities.  We will try again next week and pray things get better!!!!

Oh my, how this little man melts my heart.  I will be honest Wednesday when I dropped Wesley off at CEC for the last time I just stopped in the parking lot and cried.  I couldn’t believe 3 years had gone by so fast.  This was his last day walking into CEC.  Yes, I took a picture of him leaving the car!

The Class of 2013 from Highlands CEC. They were each presented their diploma and Bible in their cap and gown.  Then they left the sanctuary and came back without their cap and gown and with their backpacks.

I might of gotten misty eyed seeing all these kids for the last time together looking oh so adorable!!! After several sweet songs and a prayer it was over.

I have been told a time or two that I talk too much.  I am saying my farewells to Wesley’s beloved teacher Ms. Ann.  Our friend is waiting to take pictures of us and apparently is snapping pictures. I have to laugh because this is a perfect picture of the kids bored, Collins waiting patiently, and me still talking…

Wesley, your Daddy and I are so proud of you!!! You have grown so much the last 5 years and we have enjoyed every moment.  As sad as it makes me sometimes on how fast time is moving, I want you to grow up!! We will always be your biggest fan.

A little about you… You are shy, but not a pushover.  You have a drive to win and sometimes have a hard time losing.  You know God, you speak about God all the time.  I will miss having the Bible as part of your daily curriculum.  You love bugs, blocks, dinosaurs, and playing outside.  You know all your capitol letters and most of your lower case.  You can count to 120 and you love doing math problems (most of which you give to yourself).  You still write your ‘s’ backwards.  You are one of the most loving little boys and I am SO PROUD YOU ARE MINE!!!

Lawson’s Last Day of Kindergarten!

Today is the day.  The last day of Kindergarten for Lawson.  It has been a wonderful year and she has grown so much this first year of school.  I look back at pictures of Lawson from her first day of school to today and she is has changed so much.  I swear I just blinked and now I see no more signs of a toddler but a girl.  Sniff, sniff!

Lawson's First Day and Last Day of Kindergarten

She is reading well, her handwriting is gorgeous (she got an excellent handwriting reward), and really has come out of her shell as a shy child.  Back when Lawson started school we decided to send Lawson to a Magnet school.  As the year went on and our family grew the commute got that much tougher.  Plus, we have come to figure out we are pretty traditional people so traditional schooling is a better fit for us.  We have decided to pull Lawson out of the Magnet School and back into her base school.  We are very happy with our decision and feel our base school is going to be a good fit.  Plus, Lawson is super excited that she will be riding the bus.  Unlike the rest of her classmates Lawson will be going back to school August 1st as she will start year round school.

Here is Lawson with her teachers.  We absolutely loved her teachers as did Lawson.  We have no regrets sending Lawson to the Magnet School for her first year because of these two fabulous women they have set a great foundation.

I thought I would show you a comparison of how much my kiddos have grown in 9 months.  Isn’t it amazing??? Both kids have grown over 3”.

One chapter of school is complete.  My baby girls is going into the 1st grade next year.  Holy moly!

Well, we have 7 weeks to enjoy our summer and that is exactly what we are going to do.  A little bit of traveling, pool time, ice cream and picnics.  Fun, fun!!!
