Lawson’s Last Day of Kindergarten!

Today is the day.  The last day of Kindergarten for Lawson.  It has been a wonderful year and she has grown so much this first year of school.  I look back at pictures of Lawson from her first day of school to today and she is has changed so much.  I swear I just blinked and now I see no more signs of a toddler but a girl.  Sniff, sniff!

Lawson's First Day and Last Day of Kindergarten

She is reading well, her handwriting is gorgeous (she got an excellent handwriting reward), and really has come out of her shell as a shy child.  Back when Lawson started school we decided to send Lawson to a Magnet school.  As the year went on and our family grew the commute got that much tougher.  Plus, we have come to figure out we are pretty traditional people so traditional schooling is a better fit for us.  We have decided to pull Lawson out of the Magnet School and back into her base school.  We are very happy with our decision and feel our base school is going to be a good fit.  Plus, Lawson is super excited that she will be riding the bus.  Unlike the rest of her classmates Lawson will be going back to school August 1st as she will start year round school.

Here is Lawson with her teachers.  We absolutely loved her teachers as did Lawson.  We have no regrets sending Lawson to the Magnet School for her first year because of these two fabulous women they have set a great foundation.

I thought I would show you a comparison of how much my kiddos have grown in 9 months.  Isn’t it amazing??? Both kids have grown over 3”.

One chapter of school is complete.  My baby girls is going into the 1st grade next year.  Holy moly!

Well, we have 7 weeks to enjoy our summer and that is exactly what we are going to do.  A little bit of traveling, pool time, ice cream and picnics.  Fun, fun!!!
